COMPANY OVERVIEW
Muerto Spirits Inc. was born out of a desire to provide high-quality, exceptionally smooth tequilas that blow the traditional high-end market away at a fraction of the price both for consumers and distributors. We saw an industry littered with gimmicks and cheap “juice”, and felt it was our calling to bring a high quality – affordable option to market, without all the gimmicks. The name was inspired by the Day of the Dead or “Dia de los Muertos” which is the day we reflect and remember our ancestors and friends who have died.
Our distillery is a family owned and operated facility handed down through 3 generations of focused tequila distilling prowess. The unusual love story pairs a couple born in the U.S. and Mexico respectively, with a desire to build a new life creating exceptional tequilas together. Born out of hard work and dedication, their process has evolved over time to create the award-winning tequila found in our unique bottles.
The entire Muerto Spirits family (including our distillery operations) is committed to producing some of the finest tequilas in Mexico and the U.S. to honor the love story that started it all. We are dedicated to leaving a legacy of hard work, honesty, and providing a great example for future generations to come.
We combine the best of the traditional methods and technological advances when it comes to our Tequila production. Traditional slow-baking brick ovens and autoclaves are used to cook the blue agave hearts, as well as traditional mills (molinos) to extract the juices from only the finest blue Agave. We ferment with naturally occurring yeast and distillation takes place in old fashioned pot stills. All water is processed through an ultra-modern system of reverse osmosis, de-ionization, and ultra violet bacteria eliminating lights, followed by two types of filtration.
